MLP Dreambreaker

also called Dreambreaker

MLP's tiebreaking format — a four-game singles match (one per player) with running cumulative score. Used when a team match is tied 2–2.

Last revised

When an MLP team match ends 2–2 after the four scheduled games, the tie is broken by a Dreambreaker: each of the four players plays a singles game in turn, with the team's cumulative score running across all four games. First team to 21 (win by 2) takes the match.

Dreambreakers reward depth — a team with one weak singles player can lose a match they otherwise dominated. They're also pure TV: high stakes, fast pace, individual moments.
