Rules & scoring
Rally scoring
Alternative scoring in which every rally yields a point regardless of who served. Used in MLP-style team formats and some pro events.
In rally scoring, the winner of each rally scores a point, regardless of which side served. Faster pace, predictable game length, easier for TV broadcasts.
The PPA Tour uses traditional side-out scoring. MLP team play uses a hybrid (rally to a set point cap, then a Dreambreaker). Most rec play stays side-out.
